FAQs for Injured Parties

We have been instructed by your solicitor in order to obtain an independent medical report, to allow them to pursue your claim.

 Who are Summerhill Medical Reporting?

We are a Medical Reporting Organisation (MRO). Whilst we are appointed by your Solicitor to obtain a medical report, we are a fully independent and regulated company. We have access to a nationwide panel of medical experts.

 Why can’t I go and see my own GP?

 What do I need to take to the appointment?

Apart from some photographic ID, there is nothing else you need to take to the examination.

 What happens after the appointment?

The expert will complete their report and send this via our secure systems. The report will be checked and then sent to your Solicitor in order for them to value and validate your claim. Typically they receive this within 24 hours.

 How far will I need to travel?

We always try and ensure that the appointment is as close to your home or work address as possible. In some more rural areas you may have to travel further. Remember in most cases you can claim back any reasonable travelling expenses as part of your claim.

 How long will the appointment last?

Generally appointments last between 15 and 30 minutes, depending upon the severity of your injury.

 What if I cannot attend the appointment?

If you are unable to attend please call us, respond to our text messages or send an email as soon as possible.

 Will I need to pay for the medical report?

We will pay the examiner and then send our invoice to your Solicitor, who will then claim the cost back from the defendant’s insurers.

 Can I attend with other people who were involved in the same accident?

Each person is given their own appointment slot. However wherever possible we try to book subsequent appointments in order to make it more convenient.
